Elmar Janse is a Dutch photographer and director, often found outdoors, exploring vast horizons.
Driven by curiosity and adventure he captures the scale, intensity, and quiet beauty of nature.

Graduating from the Willem de Kooning Academy, with a background in graphic design and branding, Elmar developed a distinct visual language, defined by simplicity, balance, and strong composition.

Whether working on editorial, commercial or fine-art projects, he creates visual worlds that feel honest and timeless. Capturing a sense of calm within life’s constant motion. His work spans the fields of adventure, travel, outdoor, and lifestyle. Translating real experiences into thoughtful visual narratives.

With nearly a decade of experience across both large and small productions, he has collaborated with international brands and agencies to craft authentic visual stories. Together with Merel Klomp, he co-founded Encrite, a creative studio dedicated to bringing meaningful stories to life through film and photography.

Born from a deep passion for nature’s sublime, they started The Glacier Project. A fine-art series, exploring the ephemeral beauty of Europe's glaciers. Merging artistic vision with environmental storytelling.
